Ice forms into top-hat shapes measuring 1.125 inches long, 1 inch wide, and 1.25 inches tall. Depending on the ambient air and water temperatures, it produces 49 to 65 pounds of ice in a 24-hour period, and its bin stores as much as 26 pounds. Since it enables the ice maker to have inactive periods, the bin helps keep up with demand during peak hours and reduces stress on the system.

Since it is 15 inches wide, the Scotsman CU50PA-1 undercounter ice machine fits in compact spaces. Its control panel alerts users when cleanings are needed, helping keep ice fresh. Extending the time between cleanings, a water quality sensor detects hard water conditions and helps remove heavy minerals with each harvest cycle. For cleanup, drain water is removed by a 10-inch drain tube through the built-in pump.
