Precooked rice is incredibly popular in Mexico and a staple. This Verde Valle Red Tomato Rice is super tasty and really easy to make. Mexican pre-cooked tomato rice is super versatile and is so tasty it can be eaten plain or used as a side dish, a filling in burritos or enchiladas.

Ingredients: rice (85%), chicken-tomato seasoning (maltodextrin, tomato, salt, hydrolyzed vegetable protein-soy), beef chicken powder, onion, garlic, vegetable oil, flavours, spices, paprika extract, turmeric powder, brewers yeast, flavour enhancer (621, 330, 631, 627), colours (129, 150d), antioxidant (320), anti-caking (341, 551), vitamins (B1, iron, B3, thiamine, folic acid).

Contains: Soy, Milk, Gluten.
May contain: sulphites.

Cooking Instructions:

On the stove:

1. Put 260 ml of water into a pot. Bring it to the boil and add the contents of the pack. Stir to incorporate.
2. Lower the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
3. Remove from the heat, stir the rice with a fork to fluff it and cover the pot to rest the rice until you are serving it.

In the microwave:

1. Put 260 ml of water and the contents of the pack of rice into a large plastic or glass bowl. Stir to combine and microwave for 5 minutes on high. (timings may change depending on your microwave model)
2. Remove from the microwave and fluff the rice with a fork. Rest covered until serving.
